Waukesha County residents who were affected by the August 2025 flooding are now able to apply for federal disaster aid.

In a post last week, President Donald Trump announced that federal relief would be coming to the state, stating:

I just informed Senator Ron Johnson, that, based on his request, I am approving $29.8 Million Dollars for the wonderful state of Wisconsin to help them recover from the major storms and flooding they experienced in August. We had Huge Victories in Wisconsin in 2016, 2020, and 2024 and it is my Honor to deliver BIG for Wisconsinites

Over the weekend, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow further confirmed that a portion of the federal aid would be coming to Waukesha County residents.

In a post to his professional Facebook page, Farrow encouraged those impacted to reach out, saying:

Here we go everyone! We hope those who suffered a financial burden from the floods can recoup some losses.

Farrow went on to publish an instruction guide assisting individuals who may qualify for relief on how to apply. He encouraged people to either reach out online at DisasterAssistance.Gov or to call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

Individuals who plan on applying for relief funding will need to include their email address, the address where the disaster took place and their current residing address, their social security number, a list of damages and losses, their bank information for direct deposit, and their insurance information.

The FEMA aid may help cover grants for temporary housing, home repairs, uninsured property losses, and other personal and household needs.

According to Governor Tony Evers, about 1500 residential properties were destroyed by the floods across six counties. However, the counties with the greatest damages and need for relief are Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Washington.

The maximum FEMA grants for homes are $43,000 but exact amounts can vary between properties and according to need.

The Commercial Association of REALTORS® Wisconsin, in partnership with the REALTORS® Relief Foundation, is also offering up to $1,000 in relief funding for direct housing grants.

The program is open to those in Waukesha County and is available until November 19, 2025 or until the funding runs out. It will be distributed on a first come first serve basis.
