A recent incident in the 74th Wisconsin Assembly District race has sparked significant concerns about the integrity of the election process, particularly for voters in the Town of Summit, Douglas County.

According to Wisconsin Public Radio, a ballot misprint resulted in over 180 voters being unable to cast their vote in the correct Assembly race during the recent primary election.

Instead of the 74th Assembly District Republican primary, these voters received ballots listing the 73rd District Democratic candidates, which led to widespread confusion and frustration.

Douglas County Clerk Kaci Jo Lundgren acknowledged the mistake but stated that there wasn’t enough time on Election Day to correct the ballots or provide another remedy.

The error has prompted Scott Harbridge, a Republican candidate in the 74th Assembly District, to call for a new election, citing the importance of maintaining voter trust and the integrity of the electoral process. Harbridge emphasized that the right to vote is fundamental, and when that right is compromised, action must be taken.
