Expansion Planned for Corners of Brookfield
May 22, 2025

Big changes are coming to the incredibly popular Corners of Brookfield. Since the property initially opened in 2018, it has become a well regarded apartment complex, shopping center, dining hub, and entertainment venue. It has also become a focal point for the community, frequently hosting social events like food truck festivals and outdoor sports screenings. Over the past seven years, multiple restaurants and stores have been added to the complex’s repertoire. On Wednesday, May 21, the Mandel Group, which manages the property, announced that it was looking to expand the highly regarded Corners in the coming years.

Both additional retail space and apartment structures will be added. Construction is set to begin in the beginning half of 2026, although improvements to communal areas such as roads, crosswalks, benches, and landscaping have already begun.

The retail space will offer an additional 278 apartments available for rent. Currently, there are only 244 associated with the property, meaning that this will more than double the size. The new apartments will be constructed on the west end of the space, where the former La Quinta hotel and a couple of restaurants once stood. In recent years, the space has been leveled in anticipation of the coming construction. There will be two buildings erected in the space along with more parking and an extra wellness and community space for residents.

The addition will also add 40,000 square feet of retail space. There is currently 400,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space. Evereve, which is currently located on High Street near Altar’d State, will move into a larger space in the addition. Alo Yoga will also be opening a location at the Corners, its first Wisconsin based location to date. The recent addition of new stores and restaurants, such as the newly opened Margaux, and the expansion of existing stores, like Altar’d State, have been cited as proof of increasing demand.

One casualty of the upcoming changes will be the closure of the Silverspot Cinema. The Silverspot will officially close on June 16, 2025, marking the end of the premier theater chain’s foray into the Wisconsin movie market. The large space is occupies will be repurposed at the end of 2025. Both the Silverspot and the Corners came to a mutual agreement over the theater ending its lease.
