Motorcyclist Dies in Accident on I-94 Near Oconomowoc

Oconomowoc, WI – A tragic accident on Interstate 94 near Sawyer Road claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday night. The accident, which occurred around 9:23 p.m., has heightened concerns over the safety of this congested stretch of highway.

The incident took place between Oconomowoc and Delafield, an area currently undergoing a 7-mile repaving project, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, leading to increased traffic congestion. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, which is leading the investigation, reported that the eastbound lanes were closed for five hours, causing significant traffic backups until they were cleared at approximately 2:30 a.m.

As of Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Department had not released additional information regarding the specifics of the accident. The identity of the 64-year-old male victim has also not been disclosed pending notification of family members.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and officials are working to determine the exact cause and any contributing factors. This tragic event underscores the importance of heightened awareness and caution in construction zones, particularly in areas experiencing increased traffic due to ongoing roadworks.
