Pewaukee’s lakefront businesses are always changing and evolving alongside the community. On May 1, 2025, Myxn Lakeside Beach Bar (145 W Wisconsin Ave, Unit 1) held its grand opening. The restaurant added a brand new take on the bar with unique cocktails and cocktails and handcrafted food offerings. Since opening, they’ve hosted a slew of fun events such as a Kentucky Derby Party (Which encouraged customers to come in costumes and hats) and live music. Their willingness to experiment with new ways to connect with the community has led to all sorts of inventive ideas.
On Thursday, June 5, Myxn decided to try out another one of these great ideas: A hot dog cart. The classic stand made its debut outside of the bar and grill’s storefront, facing the lake. There is a dedicated patio where guests can stop at the cart, pick out a bag of chips, a bottle of water, and be served a hotdog. It’s a summer time staple, one that complements Pewaukee beach’s laid back atmosphere. It’s convenient for families and lake lovers who might be looking for a casual way to keep the beach fun going through lunch.
“I don’t know how well the cart is going to do- This is our first day. We’re hoping people come by and really enjoy it because it’s fun,” said Myxn’s owner, Tim, who was proudly seated out front, tongs in hand, serving hotdogs. “We’re hoping people come over from the beach and try it out. It’s really easy for families.”
Tim and his family have put a lot of thought into their restaurant. As they revamped the space and prepared to open it for business this past spring, they wanted to find a way to incorporate their lakefront location into the restaurant’s identity. They spent a lot of time picking out menu items, cocktails (And mocktails!), and decor that would allow customers to fully enjoy the beachy atmosphere. Inside, the beautiful natural lighting and open concept helps create that connection. However, this new hotdog cart takes it a step further, as it brings Myxn outside. For those visiting Pewaukee beach this week, they should keep an eye out for the new hot dog stand in town, that sets itself apart by serving up a classic.
