OCONOMOWOC — With the summer break in full swing, renovation and update projects at Oconomowoc High School (OHS) and Ixonia Elementary School are progressing as planned, according to the Oconomowoc Area School District (OASD).

Ixonia Elementary School Updates

At Ixonia Elementary School, significant strides have been made on the new addition to the building according to the Oconomowoc Enterprise. The exterior of the addition is now fully enclosed, and interior framing for the new classrooms and spaces is well underway. Drywall work is scheduled to commence within a week. Roofing activities for the new addition also began at the end of June.

In addition to the new addition, the original gym floor has been successfully abated and removed. The installation of the new gym floor is planned to begin towards the end of the project timeline, ensuring it is ready for use in the upcoming school year.

Oconomowoc High School Updates

At Oconomowoc High School, the demolition phase of the HVAC summer project plan on the first floor has been completed. The installation of new ductwork, which began at the end of June, is currently ahead of the summer project schedule. Additionally, the old rooftop units have been removed, paving the way for new and improved HVAC systems.

Project Timeline and Funding

Both the new addition at Ixonia Elementary and the HVAC project at OHS are part of the facility referendum approved by voters in April 2023. The OASD has assured that the addition at Ixonia Elementary will be completed by late August, just in time for the start of the 2024-25 school year.

These updates are part of a broader effort to enhance the educational facilities within the district, ensuring they meet modern standards and provide a conducive learning environment for students.

For more detailed information and updates on the ongoing projects, interested parties are encouraged to visit the OASD’s facilities page at oasd.org/Facilities.

The district continues to prioritize the timely completion of these projects, keeping in line with the scheduled plans and ensuring minimal disruption to the academic calendar. As these projects advance, the OASD remains committed to maintaining transparency and providing regular updates to the community.
