A student resource officer from St. Francis, Wisconsin, faces serious charges after being accused of illegal surveillance involving a student.
According to WTMJ, 58-year-old Dimitri Kamolov, a longtime officer with the St. Francis Police Department, was charged with two felonies: Invading Privacy – Use of Surveillance Device and Attempting to Capture an Intimate Representation of a minor.
Kamolov, who had served as a student resource officer in the St. Francis School District for four years, allegedly recorded a female student without her knowledge. The incident occurred on September 4, when Kamolov reportedly asked the student to try on shirts in his private office. The student noticed a cell phone recording her and immediately informed the school’s principal.
Kamolov was placed on administrative leave during the investigation and was arrested on September 24. He appeared in court on September 27, where cash bond was set at $5,000. Kamolov is prohibited from having contact with the victim or children under 18, and he must wear an electronic monitoring device.
The St. Francis Police Department has also begun the process of terminating Kamolov, who has been with the department for 31 years. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 3.
This incident has sparked concern in the community, as Kamolov was in a trusted position at the school. As the legal process unfolds, many are watching closely to see the outcome.
