The Lake Country DockHounds are just about ready to kick off their 2025 season. The first game will be held on Friday, May 9, but it will see the team travel down to Chicago. As a way to get fans excited for the beginning of baseball season, the DockHounds hosted their first ever Fan Fest night. Saturday, May 3 saw hundreds of DockHounds fans show up to the park for an evening of good food, fun games, and all kinds of great interaction with team players and staff.
The Fan Fest allowed everyone in attendance the opportunity to meet and greet the Lake Country DockHounds players. The entire team, including coaches, were seated on the second floor of the beautiful Wisconsin Brewing Company Park stadium. Throughout the evening, guests were given the opportunity to chat with all of the players, some well seasoned and some returning to the team for consecutive years. They were more than happy to chat with fans or sign their hats and jerseys, making the experience truly one of a kind.
Right handed pitcher Luke Hansel is a Wisconsin native, who grew up in Caledonia. He expressed anticipation for the coming season, stating that “It’s cool to play so close to home at a professional level.”
The evening was also a memorable opportunity for locals to step inside of WBC Park. The gift shop was open, selling a multitude of hats, shirts, and other knickknacks. The DockHounds special 2025 jerseys were also on display and for sale. Fans were eager to get a peak at some of the summer’s greatest styles. The night also allowed attendees the chance to try some of the new food available at the stadium. The smoked brisket sandwich was a standout, with other family favorites such as bacon ranch tater tots and beef quesadillas being well liked by many.
Throughout the evening, the DockHounds raffled off a variety of unique memorabilia. Upon entrance, every guest was given a raffle ticket. Every thirty minutes, Skipper Dave would raffle off signed bats and jerseys to a few lucky fans. The night wasn’t complete without live music, which was a good way for everyone to come together in celebration.
Dominic Stearn, the play-by-play broadcaster for the DockHounds, was extremely excited about the community’s response to the event. “This is a good of a turnout as we could’ve expected,” Stearn said, noting that it was the team’s first attempt at a Fan Fest.
