32nd Annual Christmas Fantasy House Opens in Elm Grove
November 2, 2025

The 2025 Christmas Fantasy House has opened for the holiday season, this time at a house in Elm Grove.

The Christmas Fantasy House has become a tradition for southeastern Wisconsin. Inspired by Loretta Thompson, the house helps fund the charitable Ronald McDonald House in Eastern Wisconsin. Each year, a family will graciously donate their house to be transformed by multiple local designers into a Christmas world of wonders.

This year, the house is located in Elm Grove. It is a 19,000 square foot home on a gorgeously landscaped plot of land in the heart of one of the community’s incredible neighborhoods.

The 2025 Christmas Fantasy House opened up on Saturday, November 1 and will be open through Sunday, November 9. Additionally, it will be closed on Tuesday, November 4. Although this may seem like an early date to start celebrating Christmas, this early date is intentionally chosen.

First, many of the designers are local businesses who will move some of the products on display in the house into their stores in the coming month. Second, the house is meant to inspire people so that as they begin to plan their own holiday decorations for their homes, they can adapt the ideas they’ve now seen in the house.

In 2024, the Christmas Fantasy House raised $400,000 for the Ronald McDonald House charities. This incredible amount means that 3,500 families can spend the night at the Ronald McDonald House free of cost. They help keep families close to their loved ones while hospitalized.

Last year, the House was located in Oconomowoc and owned by the Kappl’s. The last time the House was in Elm Grove was in 2011, when John Heuler & Peggy Coakley graciously offered up their home. Since the project began in 1993 with Dr. John & Fran Matsis in Brookfield, this yearly tradition has been held in beautiful homes all throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

Lake Country has many great designers represented in the House this year, including Lake and Pine Co. (617 Main Street, Delafield), Madhouse Collection (W359 N5002 Brown Street, Ste 106, Oconomowoc), and Serendipity Home (122 N. Main Street, Oconomowoc).

Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the lovely decorations, while also being given the opportunity to stop at the Sweet Shop, participate in a silent auction, and buy tickets for the raffle.
