Steel Tank Brewing Company in Oconomowoc will be hosting a fundraiser for Waukesha County Deputy Steve Lyles. On Saturday February 22, Steel Tank Brewing will open its doors to the community for ‘Pints for a Purpose’. The event will feature live music from the Katz Sass band, a contemporary rock and blues band, starting at 1 p.m. The fundraiser is set to benefit Deputy Steve Lyles, who is battling a rare form of cancer.

Deputy Lyles has been serving the residents of Waukesha County for almost twenty years. Throughout his time at the Sheriff’s department, he has helped keep the community safe and built powerful relationships throughout the area. Originally, he served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, where he worked hard to dutifully provide for the country. Since joining the Sheriff’s department, Lyles has joined both the Firearms Unit and the Defense and Arrest Tactics Unit. These additional duties are faithfully performed alongside his regular department duties. Lyles has proven his dedication to the people of Wisconsin time and time again.

Unfortunately, over the past five years, Lyles has been fighting a difficult battle against papillary renal cell carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer. This specific diagnosis is found in 10-15% of kidney cancers. It can be aggressive and difficult to treat, yet Lyles continues to fight “without ever complaining or asking for anything”. The link to his GoFundMe can be found Here.

The fundraiser this upcoming weekend aims to help raise awareness of Lyles fight as well as continue to financially support him throughout his journey. The travel expenses for treatment and medical bills can be overwhelming, which the Pints for a Purpose is trying to help cover. A $20 cover fee per person will be charged. Along with the live music performance, there will also be a 50/50 raffle with a chance to win an AR-15. Between 1 and 4 p.m., Steel Tank Brewing will allow the community an opportunity to come together and support Deputy Lyles and his family. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Deputy. The event is being sponsored by the Waukesha Deputy Charities Association, a group that supports several organizations, scholarship funds, and charities in Waukesha County.

If supporting Deputy Lyles isn’t already a great reason to stop by the event, check out the Katz Sass Band’s setlist. Featuring songs from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, and ZZ Top, the event is sure to be a hit for everyone who attends.
