Beach Bum Bakery, a staple of Pewaukee Beach’s lineup of incredible lake front businesses, is set to be taken over by new owners.
The business recently announced that starting on Monday, October 13, 2025, Beach Bum Bakery would be operating under new ownership.
The former owners are not originally from Wisconsin but are from California. The couple relocated to the midwest several years ago due to the husband’s job.
The former owner went on to state that while she has had “an amazing experience” in the lake country area, she has also had to make quite a few adjustments: “It’s also been hard out here with no family”.
The decision to sell the bakery will allow the former owners to move back to California to be closer with friends, family, and loved ones.
The previous owners have operated Beach Bum Bakery for the past five years.
Fortunately for those who have grown accustomed to picking up cakes, cookies, and countless treats from Beach Bum, the bakery isn’t going to close.
Beach Bum has been sold to a new pair of owners, a couple who will be taking over the responsibilities and operations.
“We have helped [the community] celebrate big milestones and intimate moments. Graduations, birthdays, proposals, bridal showers, weddings, gender reveals, baby showers, retirements, anniversaries, funerals, holidays, parties, friends, family, and community.”
The former owner’s last day will be Sunday, October 12.
As a tribute to the former owner’s last few days at the bakery, Beach Bum is selling most of their favorite baked goods such as peanut butter coffee cake, scotcharoos, peanut butter chocolate muffins, cheesecake brownies, and pecan bars.
They also have been experimenting with some new, fun cupcake flavors like caramel snickerdoodle, Nutella biscoff, toffee crunch, and peanut butter and jelly.
Friends have been stopping by since the announcement to say goodbye to the previous owners before they head back out west.
The boutique bakery has become a go to destination for much of the community, as its daily made treats and gorgeous decorations have allowed it to shine.
Beach Bum Bakery is located at 161 Wisconsin Ave. #1G, Pewaukee. They are open M-F 8-6 and Saturdays and Sundays from 8-2.
