For a long time, Swimming Pool Services Inc. has helped give the residents of southeastern Wisconsin cool summers. But their influence is not only felt in the summer months, but well into the holidays.

As Christmas approaches, the company offers exterior holiday lighting services. The service is meant to help alleviate some of the stresses surrounding outdoor decorations, especially since Wisconsin weather can frequently make it difficult for hard working homeowners to get outside.

As a way for the business to give back to the community during this time, they started their Decorated Family Program– An opportunity for two military families to receive free outdoor LED lighting and decorating services.

This year’s Decorated Family will mark the thirteenth consecutive year of the program, as a part of the company’s franchise affiliation with Christmas Decor.

Military families can be nominated, as the group encourages people to submit the names of both veterans and active duty military families who would appreciate the opportunity to have Christmas lighting and decorations free of charge.

The company has also asked people to follow along online as the winners are chosen and their stories are shared.

Nominations for the program must be completed by 10 am on the morning of November 5th, 2025. The nominated family must live in Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Walworth, or Milwaukee county.

The families selected to have their houses decorated will be alerted on Veteran’s Day (November 11), which will then result in a subsequent design consultation. The holiday lighting will only be installed if the chosen family is comfortable with doing so.

Applications for submissions can be submitted here.

The Decorated Families program has become an incredibly important holiday tradition for both the company, the families, and the communities. It is a way to offer joy and holiday cheer through beautiful lights that help build bonds.

Swimming Pool Services CEO Michael Panella has stated that they offer the program for a special reason:

“We have been so blessed to serve out community, and being able to honor those who have served our country is a tremendous privilege for us. They deserve recognition for their sacrifice, and this is one way we can show our appreciation for their service.”
