The Lake Country DockHounds have announced their upcoming tribute to Milwaukee’s beloved 1982 World Series Brewers baseball team. For the DockHounds 2025 season, the team will designate five different games to their celebration of the Brewers. To make the event even more special, four different former Milwaukee Brewers who played on the 1982 team will be making appearances at the game. These include Jim Gantner and May 16, Rollie Fingers on June 20, Robin Yount on July 14, and Ted Simmons on August 14. After the DockHounds game on July 3, the team will further pay homage to the team with a dedicated fireworks show held afterwards.
The fun doesn’t stop there, though. As a way to include fans in the memorable experience, the DockHounds have a special wager for anyone with either season tickets or their special ‘Legends 5 Pack‘. Each game, ten of these lucky ticket holders will be selected to meet the attending player, have their picture taken with them, and receive a baseball bat signed by the player. This once in a lifetime opportunity has made both DockHounds and Brewers fans extremely interested in the game series.
This isn’t the first time the DockHounds have paid tribute to Brewers legends. For their 2024 season, the DockHounds hosted the wildly popular ‘Robin Yount Day’ on August 19. That game turned out to be a smash hit for Wisconsin baseball lovers. “Fans packed the stands, and the baseball legend [Yount] himself was on the field coaching first base. What a day to remember!” Said the team. By the day of the game, only a few field tickets were left for the game, proving that it drew massive crowds from all across southeastern Wisconsin.
The 1982 Brewers team was the only Brewers team to ever make the World Series. Despite the Brewers’ loss to the St. Louis cardinals, it marked the first time that a Milwaukee baseball team had played in the Series since 1958. Additionally, it also featured stars like Rollie Fingers and Robin Yount, who would go on to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Much more than that, however, is the way the team was beloved by so many baseball fans. The team featured several players with strong personalities, which created decades-long affection between the team and the community. While Milwaukee is still waiting for the Brewers to return to the World Series, the DockHounds celebration of the 1982 “Suds Series” allows fans to relive the glory days.
