Egg Hunts and Easter Fun Come to Lake Country

In 2025, Easter Sunday will fall on April 20. As the beloved spring holiday fast approaches, many are preparing for all the special fun that it has to offer. Spring is always a season of bright colors, fresh flowers, and a little bit of sunshine after a long Wisconsin winter. Beyond the fun of chocolate bunnies and dying eggs, here are some fun ways to celebrate within the Lake Country community.

Egg Hunts

  • Ixonia Easter Egg Hunt: Ixonia’s Parks and Recreation department is hosting this hunt at Ixonia Elementary School. There will be crafts, as well as an opportunity for children to meet and have their picture taken with the Easter bunny.
    • Date: Saturday, April 12
    • Time: 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.
    • Location: Fireman’s Park Ixonia (N8345 Park St.)
  • Western Lakes Fire Department: Visit the Easter bunny, color, and enjoy some snacks all while getting a peak inside of the fire department. The station will open its doors for tours and have demos of some of its equipment, ensuring fun and education for the whole family.
    • Date: Sunday, April 13
    • Time: 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
    • Location: Western Lakes Station 56- Stone Bank (W335N7107 Stone Bank Rd.)
  • Okauchee Lions Easter Egg Hunt: Open for those under the age of twelve, hundreds of eggs- including a few special golden ticket eggs!- will be hidden to find. The Easter bunny will make an appearance. Coffee and donuts from local food trucks will also be available, with bloody maries for the adults to enjoy while kids hunt.
    • Date: Saturday, April 19
    • Time: 9:30 a.m.- Noon, the hunt begins at 10:30
    • Location: N49W34400 Wisconsin Ave.

Family Friendly Activities

  • Meet the Bunny at the Corners of Brookfield: The Milwaukee Improv and the Fairytale Birthday Company have partnered together to allow families the chance to meet the bunny, participate in crafts, have their face painted, and enjoy some sweet treats.
    • Date: Friday, April 18
    • Time: 10:00 a.m.- Noon
    • Location: 20110 Lower Union St.
  • Whirlyball’s Breakfast With a Bunny: This event will feature a buffet brunch, an egg hunt, a visit from the Easter bunny himself, and unlimited bowling and Whirlyball. Tickets are $40 for adults, and $35 for those under 16.
    • Date: Saturday, April 19
    • Time: 10:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
    • Location: 185 S. Moorland Rd.
  • The Commodore’s Easter Brunch: The Commodore will be offering an extensive, high quality brunch buffet that serves a little something for everyone. Featured among its offerings are a carving station, an omelette station, a juice bar, and a wide selections of grazing options.
    • Date: Sunday, April 20
    • Time: 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
    • Location: 1807 Nagawicka Rd.
  • Easter Cookie Decorating Class: Join the Lake Country DockHounds and the Costa Cookie Company as they teach you how to make six different Easter cookies that can taken home (And eaten!) at the end of the class.

    • Time: 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.
