The Winnipeg Goldeyes secured a thrilling 10-6 victory over the Lake Country DockHounds on Friday evening at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park, marking another exciting chapter in their season. The Goldeyes wasted no time, jumping to an early lead and keeping the pressure on their opponents throughout the game.

Things kicked off quickly when Goldeyes third baseman Ramón Bramasco scored on a wild pitch just four batters into the game, giving Winnipeg a 1-0 lead. The momentum continued into the second inning when designated hitter Edwin Arroyo added another run, making it 2-0. But Lake Country wasn’t about to go down without a fight. The DockHounds tied the game in the bottom of the second, thanks to a two-run homer from third baseman Josh Altmann.

However, the Goldeyes broke the game wide open in the fourth inning with a six-run surge, highlighted by Max Murphy’s three-run homer. By the sixth inning, Winnipeg had extended their lead to 10-2, thanks to Rob Emery’s two-run double.

Despite Lake Country’s efforts to mount a comeback, scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth, the Goldeyes’ pitching staff, including starter Landen Bourassa and relievers Tasker Strobel, Thomas Ponticelli, and Joey Steele, held firm to secure the win. It was a particularly special night for Bourassa and his teammates, who all played together at the University of San Francisco and appeared in a professional game together for the first time.

Goldeyes manager Logan Watkins praised his team’s offense, acknowledging the challenges of pitching in a park with small dimensions but celebrating the big win.
