The village of Hartland is making history as today marks the first day of its inaugural Hartland Hometown Celebration. The event will span throughout the weekend, with unique festivities each day. Starting on Thursday in Nixon Park (175 E. Park Avenue, Hartland), visitors can expect a large carnival as nightly live performances from some of the areas favorite bands. On Friday, June 27, there will be a fireworks show beginning at 9:30 p.m., which is a great chance to see a fireworks show without having to wait until the 4th of July.

On Sunday, June 29, the weekend will close with a parade at 1:30 p.m. It will begin on the corner of Merton Ave. and Hartbrook Dr., then will turn right onto E. Capitol Dr. At North Ave., the route will take another right turn, with the parade ending as it once again meets Hartbrook Dr. The parade is being sponsored by several of Hartland’s biggest businesses, passionate residents, and community supporters. The titular supporter is Big Fish Contracting, a local roofer and renovator known for their deep ties to southeastern Wisconsin.

Hartland’s Village President, Jeff Pfannerstill, posted about his upcoming support for the event, stating “I worked hard for this. So happy it is finally here.”

In addition to the carnival, there will also be tents from the Knights of Columbus, Woman’s Club, and Kiwanis. Additional food vendors will be located adjacent to them. The Culver’s Main Stage Tent will have the only bar area, offering beer and seltzers. Culver’s Main Stage will also provide the live music. On Thursday at 8 p.m., “Driving Miss Crazy” will perform. On Friday, the Hartland Community Band will perform at 6:30 p.m., followed by “Mt. Olive” at 8 p.m. before the fireworks. On Saturday, “Bella Cain” will play at 8 p.m., a band well regarded in the area for being “the best top 40 country band”.

Although this weekend will be special, Nixon Park has been preparing for it all summer long. Their beer garden has drawn in large crowds on the weekend evenings it is open, offering both food and beverages. Their Thursday Night Concert series has also been a fun draw for locals. Last week, Thursday June 19, the artists “Gabriella Zamansky” and “Depot Express” both performed.
