Halloween isn’t just fun for kids, anymore. Hartland’s incredible cadre of small businesses have showed up in big ways over the past week to help residents of all ages enjoy the Halloween festivities.
Last Saturday, October 25, downtown Hartland hosted their first Halloween Creepy Crawl. The event, which ran between noon and 4 pm, gave adults in the community a fun chance to celebrate. With the purchase of a $30 wristband, participants were able to stop at several local spots to sip on some spooky cocktails.
Adults were encouraged to dress up in their most creative costumes and travel between several local bars, including Beer Snobs Ale and Eats, Duke’s Bar and Grill, Gristmill Public House, The INN, The Phoenix, Tabby’s, Triangle Tap, and Zesti. Each establishment had a different themed cocktail.
Attendees had the opportunity to win prizes for their costumes. First place went to a Victorian dressed vulture head. Some of the runner ups were dresses in looks from Beetlejuice, the Flintstones, and SpongeBob. From cool to creepy, the community showed up with tons of Halloween spirit.
The fun hasn’t stopped, though. This week, many businesses are finding ways to celebrate.
At Pink Mocha Cafe and Coffeehouse the Halloween festivities will last well through Friday. The cafe is playing seasonally appropriate music (Such as tunes from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “The Ghostbusters” soundtracks). There are pumpkins and fall leaves decorating the sparkly, pink place, giving it a unique seasonal atmosphere.
They’re also offering a taste of Halloween, as well. This week, they have boxes of Halloween treats available, including their famous chocolate chip cookies with hauntingly delicious Halloween sprinkles.
Fall flavors are on full display, as their apple streusel pancakes make for a perfect autumn breakfast. Their pumpkin rolls and cinnamon swirl pumpkin bread (with pecan crumbs and a drizzled maple glaze) are some of the most elevated Halloween treats around. For those sick of stealing their kids’ Halloween candy, Pink Mocha has some terrifyingly tasty alternatives.
As the 2025 Halloween season comes to a close and the Lake Country area begins looking ahead to Christmas, Hartland has given people plenty to celebrate.
