For the second year in a row, the Lake Country Dockhounds are heading to the playoffs.
Tickets for the playoff games are set to go on sale on Friday, August 15 at 10 a.m. and are available for purchase at the team’s website. Additionally, special 2025 playoff merch is for sale here.
Last year, the American Association of baseball team made their first appearance in the playoffs. The series was short lived, after the team lost each of their games again the Kane County Cougars.
In 2024, they had a winning 53-47 record.
So far in the 2025 season, they have a winning 50-33 record.
The Dockhounds are currently the highest ranked team in the standings for the East Division League. The second highest ranked team is the Chicago Dogs, who only have a winning 43-40 record.
The DockHounds have also won the last 7 of their 10 games.
This year, the team’s return to the playoffs will not only be their second consecutive playoff appearance, but also their second in team history. Since being established in 2022, this will also be their second regular season with a winning record.
This year, breakout stars include Ryan Hernandez who currently leads the team with 16 HRs and Brian Rey who currently has 13 HRs.
The team has also had a standout pitching lineup. Rookie Luke Hansel currently leads the team with 9 Ws, and Brett Conine leads the team with 87 SOs.
The first round of the 2025 playoffs will take place on September 3 and September 5, with September 6 being used if necessary for a tie breaker. The lower seeded team will host the first game of the series, while the higher seeded team will host the second (And if needed, third) games of the series.
