The warm weather this weekend is slated to make southeastern Wisconsin’s early September feel a little bit like summer.
A fun way to get outside while still preparing for the ensuing autumn season is at Lynndale Farm’s weekend flea market.
The market will be held at N47W28270 Lynndale Road at the Lynndale Farms shopping collective from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13.
If the weather remains favorable with little chance of rain, the market may extend through to Sunday as well.
However, interested shoppers should anticipate getting there as soon as possible, because this is an event no one should miss.
At the opening of the flea market on Friday, eager customers were more than prepared to make purchases. Cars started packing the nearby parking lot almost immediately.
The market is filled with dozens and dozens of antique and gently used treasures.
The goods are placed in easy to sort through tables with plenty of space so that the customers and the objects never feel overcrowded.
There is a little something for everyone to find, from large pieces of vintage furniture that is truly one of a kind to smaller goods like ash trays, candle holders, and books that stir up memories of nostalgia.
For the fall season, there are plenty of seasonally appropriate goods. Pumpkins, Halloween decorations, and tom turkeys are available for customers to look through.
The healthy balance of old and new objects is only helped by the hand curated, high quality selection of goods. Many of the vendors are available to talk about their wares and the creative uses for them.
A home baker has a stand on the property where the owner sells a variety of sourdough breads, bagels, and tin cakes. The freshly baked goods taste as good as they look, too, and are well worth picking up while visiting the flea market.
The market’s location also allows for visitors to stop into Roost Mercantile, Vintage Barn Chicks, Molly’s Gluten Free Bakery, and the Lynndale Farm shop. Each of these businesses operate there full-time, but have opened their doors up the special event.
The flea market is a special weekend treat that brings Lake Country locals together in a unique way.
