It’s official- Summer is winding down, temperatures are starting to mellow out, and cooler weather is upon us.

As Labor Day weekend kicks off, there is plenty to be excited for- Especially as Peck & Bushel Organic Apple Orchard opens its doors for the 2025 season.

Peck & Bushel is located right off of County Line Road in Erin (5454 County Road Q), where this family owned and operated orchard brings out the magic in some of Wisconsin’s finest fruits.

The orchard opened on Friday, August 29th for its first weekend of the year, and will be open on weekends through to the middle of October.

Currently, they have several varieties of pick your own and pre picked apples, including

  • Organic Premier Honey Crisp (An “early season favorite”)
  • Organic Zestar (Similar to honey crisp but slightly more tart and adding a bit of brown sugar flavor)
  • Organic Sansa (A firm apple that is very juicy and has a unique flavor)
  • Organic Sweet Maia (A brand new flavor that is crisp and candy sweet)

The apples are grown on the 80 acre orchard which has over 50,000 fruit trees on its property.

Even better, the apples aren’t your standard fare- They really are organic, offering the certification required to meet this label through hard work and diligent tracking of the growth process.

To be ‘organic’ the orchard must not use pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms in the production of their crops. All of the products they use are fully natural to create the highest quality crop yield.

For the past 15 years, the Fahey family has owned and operated the farm, working through unpredictable weather and the trials and tribulations of farming in order to create an exceptional product and customer experience.

The large barn at the front of the orchard is a welcome sight to all who visit. Inside, guests will find freshly baked good like slab apple pie and apple cider donuts on the left. On the right, there is an incredible selection of seasonal decor and goods for the entire family (Including some of the cutest Halloween decorations around).

Guests can also purchase fresh pressed cider, coffee, hot chocolate, and a ‘frozen cider’ for the more adventurous types.

The apple picking experience is a can’t miss joy, where the friendly staff is always helpful and accommodating and the fruits are incredibly sweet.

For anyone sad to see summer go, places like Peck & Bushel make autumn seem like a welcome treat.
