Take A Bow Theatre in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, is excited to present “The Nicest Kids in Town” Cabaret, which will be performed at the Black Box Theatre on April 28, 29, and 30.

The cabaret will feature 16 students, varying from age 10 to age 18, who have contributed to designing, directing, and choreographing the show independently. The preformance will include numbers from famous Broadway shows and musical television, a display sure to keep the audience engaged and entertained. The show will highlight 20 numbers featuring performers in various solos, duets, and small/large group ensembles.

Director, Aidan Christensen, formulated the idea. Christensen gathered talented youth who wanted the opportunity to showcase their gifts to a larger audience. The older students participating, or the Senior Ensemble, invited seven younger students, known as the Junior Ensemble, to join in and be mentored in learning what is involved in theatre and performing arts.

The student managing lighting and sound has years of experience, and it is the first time they have had the opportunity to run lights and sound for a whole production.

Christensen, the Director of the show, says, “I am excited that we’re able to create a show where we can highlight the talents of student performers of multiple ages and skill levels. We have very accomplished young performers in this community, and I am delighted to showcase their talents.”

The performance will run for one weekend in April; showtimes are:

  • Friday, April 28 @ 7:00 pm – Black Box Theatre 114 Lake Street, Mukwonago, WI 53149
  • Saturday, April 29 @ 2:00 pm & 7:00 pm – Black Box Theatre 114 Lake Street, Mukwonago, WI 53149
  • Sunday, April 30 @ 2:00 pm – Black Box Theatre 114 Lake Street, Mukwonago, WI 53149

Tickets can be purchased from Take A Bow Theatre’s website. However, there are a limited number of available tickets, as there will only be 50 tickets for each show.

The Black Box Studio Theater is an intimate space in the old Mukwonago Post Office. It effectively brings performing arts and entertainment to the Mukwonago area in a black box theater setting.

The theater celebrated its grand reopening on July 29, 2021, after an exquisite remodeling to create a more versatile & flexible space for performers and guests. The Black Box Studio proudly offers exclusive artistic performances in Southeastern Wisconsin for locals to enjoy.
