For those that feared they missed out on the Historic Boat Tours of Lac La Belle thinking it was a limited opportunity, you can rejoice thanks to the Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce partnership with the Oconomowoc Area Historical Society and Museum.
The two local organizations have come together to bring this fun and family friendly experience back in time for Festival Week in August, as reported by the Oconomowoc Enterprise.
“Through our collective collaboration, and with the assistance of Buddy’s Beach Bungalow, we are honored to provide these important and entertaining tours of Oconomowoc’s rich history,” said Sara Ninmann, the current director of community events for the chamber.

“The tours are a great opportunity for local residents and visitors alike to explore our area from a new perspective while enjoying scenic views of the lake.”
Locals and visitors nearly lost out on this opportunity for good after it was announced that Shorehaven stated that they could no longer afford to operate the boat tours.
Guided pontoon boat tours narrated by volunteers from the historical society will launch from City Beach, offering engaging narratives that highlight Oconomowoc’s architectural landmarks, hidden gems, and fascinating stories.
Tours will be available on Aug. 12, 13, and 14 at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 6 p.m., lasting about 90 minutes each and costing $30 per person. Advanced registration is required, with tickets available from July 8 at bit.ly/2024laclabelletour. For questions, contact the chamber at 262-567-2666.
