This week, tickets for the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open at the Erin Hills Golf course went on sale. The event is scheduled to take place over the course of several days, starting on Wednesday, May 28th and running through Sunday, June 1st. All tickets for the event will be dispersed online, and no physical ticketing systems will be implemented. Within thirty and sixty days of the event, those who purchased tickets will find them on the USGA app.
The event marks the first time that the U.S. Women’s Open will be held at Erin Hills, although many avid golf fans will likely remember when the course hosted the Men’s U.S. Open in 2017. The 2017 U.S. Open Championship was an exciting moment in the history of Erin Hills. At the time, it marked the 117th anniversary of the contest. Erin Hills also had the honor of becoming the 6th publicly accessible golf course to host the U.S. Open. That event saw almost 200,000 guests shows up to attend the championship games, with over 5,000 volunteers helping make to make it a world class weekend. It has been estimated that the championship games led to $120 million in economic impact for the surrounding community.
The Women’s U.S. Open has traditionally been a smaller event than the Men’s. However, the Women’s championship weekend has been growing in popularity. In 2024, it was held at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania. The numbers for 2024’s attendance were not released, however, a spokesperson claimed that the number of attendees has been on a steady incline. In 2023, the Women’s U.S. Open in Pebble Beach saw an attendance number of about 45,000 guests. Additionally, the 2024 Women’s championship saw the highest amount of merchandise sales, which can be a helpful indicator for the potential economic impact in 2025.
Both daily and multi-day package tickets are available. Gallery and Trophy Club viewing options allow guests to choose where on the course they wish to view the games from. Erin Hills will also offer tickets for the Lodge Irish Pub and Terrace, a space which overlooks the course while offering, breakfast, lunch, and an open bar. 26 separate courses through the United States, Japan, and Canada will host the qualifying games leading up to the Women’s U.S. Open. The first of these games will be played in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday, April 15.
