The weekend of June 11th through the 13th, the Oconomowoc Fleet Farm parking lot had a special visitor parked at the far end of its lot. Milwaukee’s new Cousins Maine Lobster truck set up shop each day from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., drawing in huge crowds, long lines, and lots of happy customers.
The food truck is part of a national franchise that made its debut on the hit television series ‘Shark Tank’. The business was started by two cousins in April 2012. After seeing success with their fresh and authentic lobster roll food truck, they were invited to appear on ‘Shark Tank’. It was there that the two cousins made a deal with Barbara Corcoran. She invested $55,000 in the business and received a 15% stake in it. Barbara used her connections to give the business viral success, having the company appear on television shows and national networks that launched their fame.
As of now, Cousins Maine Lobster has about 20 different food trucks operating across the country.
The Milwaukee location opened just about a month ago, on June 13, 2025. Their first day, they set up shop at the Sahale Ale Works in Grafton. Since then, they’ve appeared all across southeast Wisconsin. Luckily enough, they spent much of the last week in Lake Country.
Earlier in the week, the truck was parked at the Ashley Furniture Home Store parking lot in Pewaukee. Then, they spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Oconomowoc.
The truck has gone viral for a reason. Apart from the coast, it can be difficult to find reliably fresh, authentic lobster. However, Cousins Maine Lobster does just that: Its consistently delicious, with its high quality food living up to its exciting menu offerings.
The standard lobster rolls are a must try- The Milwaukee truck even has a special ‘garlic butter’ option that adds an extra layer of flavor to the experience. Still, one can’t help but try out their famous lobster tots, lobster quesadilla, and lobster bisque (One woman in line on Sunday claimed that it was ‘the best ever’). Cousins Maine Lobster also sells their own line of sodas, including root beer and blueberry sodas in old fashioned glass bottles. Finally, the whole meal is completed with one of their fabulous whoopee pies.
For those curious about what makes the lobster truck so viral, they’ll just have to taste it to believe it.
