SUSSEX, Wis. — Wangard Partners, a prominent real estate development and investment firm, is set to begin construction on July 15, 2024, at Highlands Business Park in Sussex, Wisconsin. The new development will add 138,992 square feet to the existing facilities, bringing the total square footage under roof to 392,000 square feet.

The expansion aims to meet the growing demand for industrial space in the region and support local businesses. The new construction will accommodate up to five industrial tenant spaces, each divisible to 25,000 square feet, offering flexibility for businesses of various sizes. The site, located on 8.62 acres, is strategically positioned to attract manufacturers and other industrial tenants.

“Our vision for this next building at Highlands Business Park is to create much-needed industrial space for advanced manufacturing uses in Waukesha County,” said Stewart Wangard, Executive Chairman of Wangard Partners. “There are few options for growing manufacturers in the area, and we are excited to help drive growth for our business ecosystem in the region.”

The project, with a construction budget of $17 million, highlights Wangard’s commitment to fostering growth in Waukesha County and supporting the local manufacturing sector. The company anticipates that a portion of the new building will be leased before construction is completed, reflecting the strong demand for industrial space in the area.

Jeremy Smith, Village Administrator for Sussex, expressed optimism about the development. “The Village is excited to see continued growth at the Highlands Business Park, which will contribute to the diversification of our local economy and bring additional businesses, jobs, and economic vitality,” he said.

Highlands Business Park, which began development in 2020, has quickly become a key location for industrial operations in the region, and this latest expansion further solidifies its role in the local economy.
