Waukesha County has given an update on its construction on WI Highway 83 in the stretch between Golf Road and Vettelson Road.
In the week of September 22 through September 28, residents can expect to see lots of changes.
The construction contractor will begin to install new curbs and gutters beside to radii of Cardinal Lane and WIS 83.
New ramps for the curbs and sidewalks will also begin to be installed at Golf road and WIS 83.
The construction contractor will start to prepare to grade the stretch between Cardinal Lane to the Vettelson Road bridge for paving. Paving is then expected to begin shortly thereafter. This is the last stretch of the project still requiring paving.
The traffic signal lights on Golf Road, Oakwood Road, and Cardinal Lane will have a majority of their traffic lights installed, including:
- Conduit
- Pull boxes
- Loops
- Bases
Between Golf Road and Cardinal Lane, rumble strips and pavement markings will be permanently added.
Between Golf Road and Nagawicka Road, a three-quarter inch high aggregate shoulder base will be added along WIS 83.
During the week of September 29 through to October 5, several more projects will be worked on, including:
- Adding fine grading and asphalt paving on the stretch between Cardinal Lane and the Vettelson Road Bridge
- Installing traffic signals at the intersections by Golf Road, Oakwood Road, and Cardinal Lane
- Adding rumble strips and pavement markings to the stretch of land between Golf Road and Cardinal Lane
- Pouring new concrete sidewalks, curbs, and gutters on Golf Road
- Adding shouldering between Golf Road and Nagawicka Road
- Restoring large portions between Golf Road and Nagawicka Road
During the week of October 6 through to October 12, the construction will progress even further, such as :
- Adding asphalt paving in the space between Cardinal Lane up to the Vettelson Road Bridge
- Installing traffic signals at the intersections at Golf Road, Oakwood Road, and Cardinal Lane
- Placing rumble strips and pavement markings between Golf Road and Cardinal Lane
- Restoring the stretch of highway between Golf Road and Nagawicka Road
The County has thanked the public for being patient during the construction process. They have also asked residents to keep in mind that all work is weather dependent and subject to change.
