As autumn approaches, Wisco Pumpkin Co. is bringing fall right to their customers’ front porches.
2025 marks Wisco Pumpkin Co.’s first year of operation as a bespoke designer of festive, fall themed front porch displays.
Even though this is their first year in business, the company’s founder, Jessalyn, has already managed to sell out for the season.
Through social media and word of mouth Jess found that there was an incredible amount of interest from the community.
“Introducing who we are and why we wanted to bring this idea to life made a huge impact,” says Jess.
Jess is a Wisconsin native who moved to Lake Country 10 years ago after meeting her husband. The two started a family and have three incredible children, the youngest of which was born last October.
Amidst the craziness of her kids’ hockey games, school, full time careers, and family life, she was inspired by the porch pumpkin businesses she saw online. After realizing that there was a desire for this kind of service in Lake Country, she decided to start her own business.
Her entrepreneurial spirit helped guide her: “I love supporting businesses and testing my own ideas out… So I thought I could nurture this business and see which way it’s meant to grow”.
Although she didn’t expect many orders her first year, Jess quickly sold out- An achievement that highlights her incredible business instincts.
One of her first installations of the year was at Oconomowoc’s Fall Fest:
“Doing the display for the event was so fun. Each design comes naturally to me and this one did, too. And the best part was just seeing how excited the community was..”
Jess gives a lot of credit to her community, from her friends to the chamber of commerce, but perhaps most importantly, her family.
Her husband and children have all worked together so that the business will allow the family to spend time together and enjoy the autumn season without being too overwhelmed.
Jess is also on a mission to help support other local businesses, as all of her pumpkins are sourced from a local, family farm.
Additionally, at the end of the season, customers can choose to have the styled pumpkins be removed. Those pumpkins will be donated to a nearby animal sanctuary to use for food.
Wisco Pumpkin Co. has already proved to be a huge success. So what are the plans for the future?
“I have so many ideas for what I want to do next year!” says Jess. “We named it ‘Wisco’ Pumpkin Co. for a reason- So it can grow as much as its meant to. You’ll definitely see exciting things coming up in the future.”
The company’s first instillations will start popping up throughout the area near the end of September, so keep your eyes peeled for perfectly styled pumpkin porches in Lake Country this autumn.
