For the second year in a row, the Lake Country DockHounds are headed to the American Association of Professional Baseball’s playoffs.
The team finished up their 2025 season on Monday, September 1 after a win against their rivals, the Milwaukee Milkmen.
The DockHounds landed a final 3-2 victory, and won the last two games of the season as well as their last series. The Milwaukee Milkmen and the DockHounds have a fierce but friendly competitive streak as both teams are from southeast Wisconsin.
The DockHounds ended their 2025 AA regular season with 55 wins and 45 losses.
This is a new season record for the franchise. Last year, the team finished their 2024 AA regular season with 53 wins and 47 losses. They would ultimately go on to lose their shot at postseason success after losing to the Kane County Cougars in the playoffs.
The DockHounds managed to clinch the East Division regular season title, marking the team’s first division title in their history.
The postseason division series will kick off on Wednesday, September 3 against the Chicago Dogs at their stadium, Impact Park.
The second game in the series will be held on Friday, September 5 at the DockHound’s very own WBC Park in Oconomowoc. If needed, a third game will be held on Saturday, September 6 at WBC Park.
DockHounds fans are feeling confident after the team’s up and coming young pitcher, Luke Hansel, won the AA’s 2025 Rookie Pitcher of the Year title.
Hansel led the DockHounds pitching lineup this year with the most strikeouts (99) and the most wins (9).
Other standout players from the season include Derek Maiben, who finished with the team’s highest batting average (.294), Ryan Hernandez, who had the most HRs (18), and Brian Rey, who had the highest RBI (51).
As the team gears up for their second consecutive playoff appearance, they’re able to boast a higher win to loss ratio than their competitors, the Chicago Dogs.
The Dogs ended their 2025 season with a record of 50 wins and 49 losses, and finished up with a three game losing streak and a series blowout against the Kane County Cougars.
Although Chicago will have home field advantage for the first game, the DockHounds are preparing for an exciting second postseason game on September 5.
