The Lake Country DockHounds have officially begun their spring training as of Sunday, April 27. With their opening day set for Friday, May 9, this gives the team about two weeks of training to prepare for their 2025 season. Players could be seen at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park, working on their skills behind the plate and in the outfield. Their official home opener will be on Friday, May 16, but the spring training allowed for players to get the feel of their own turf as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Later on Sunday, the Lake Country Dockhounds will have a showdown of another kind at Fox Run Lanes in Waukesha. The annual bowling competition between the Lake Country DockHounds and the Milwaukee Milkmen will take place at 4 p.m. Fans are encouraged to attend the event to cheer on the DockHounds. Players and coaches will face off against the Milkmen as a fun competition against their nearby rivals. Both teams are a part of the American Association of Professional Baseball, which is an official partner of Major League Baseball. The teams’ proximity means that they have a healthy feud. For those unable to attend the bowling showdown, it will be broadcast on another date on MY24 Milwaukee.

The DockHounds are gearing up for the approaching season. As the date of the opening games draws ever closer, fans are anxious to get back to the ballpark. Next weekend, on Saturday, May 3, the team is hosting a party for their fans. Since their opening series of games will be away, the team is inviting fans into the stadium to celebrate the beginning of the 2025 season. From 5-9 p.m., the DockHounds and their lovable mascot Louie will be at the stadium to meet fans. Live music, raffle prizes, and the new food options slated for this year will also be available for those interested in attending.

Last year, the Lake Country DockHounds made their first appearance in the playoffs. Although they ultimately lost 2-0 against the Kane County Cougars, this new achievement has shown how much potential the team has for success. With recent player additions such as the new outfielder Dave Matthews  and the left handed pitcher Kyle Huckaby, the team is expected to have another great season. Hopes are high, and the start of spring training means that the time for good times and great baseball is nearby.
