For many years, Sweet P’s Pantry has served the Lake Country area with its tasty selection of toffee, nuts, and chocolates. Now the company has found a way to pay tribute to its community. By creating a series of Lake Country chocolate bars, they aim to show their appreciation in a sweet, delicious way. These new bars are molded with the shapes and names of some of the areas most beloved local lakes. Sweet P’s currently features Lac La Belle and Okauchee Lake on the chocolates. The bars come in either solid milk or dark chocolate.
Behind the Bars
The Lake Country bars are one of the first new products that have been introduced to the store in the past few years. Their novelty was very intentional, as the owners wanted to ensure that all of the goods they produced adhered to their high standards of quality. Sweet P’s has long been known for offering a wide selection of tempting treats, everything from toffee covered popcorn to bourbon truffles to Ghana-style brittle. The owners of Sweet P’s were adamant that whatever new product they introduced had to be great while also standing out from everything else available in the store.
“How do you create a product that is a gift but also commemorates Lake Country? How can we make our products even more memorable?” Commented Mr. Fournillier, one of the owners who joined the business in 2023.
For their solution, they looked to the community. A customer had suggested that the beloved confectionary lean into its Lake Country roots. After a month of careful consideration, the result was the Lake Country chocolate bar. It launched shortly after Valentine’s Day 2025. The first two lakes featured on these bars are Okauchee and Lac La Belle, although there are plans to expand their offerings. The next two they hope to add include Pewaukee Lake and Nagawicka Lake. Hopefully these welcome additions will start being sold around the end of March.
The bars are a love letter to Lake Country. Even down to the smallest detail, such as their packaging featuring maps of each lake, they are totally unique to the area. According to Mr. Fournillier, “The customer response has been great.”
Sweet P’s primary goal with the bars is to reach as many people as possible. The bars are currently available at Sweet P’s home base in Oconomowoc (Although it’s more than likely that a visit inside will result in even more tasty purchases). However, they can also be found at several other local shops such as Homegrown Provisions Cafe in Okauchee and Sentry in Delafield.
