Why Full-Spectrum Magnesium Could Be the Key to Reducing Anxiety

A 2010 review of natural treatments for anxiety suggests that magnesium might be an effective treatment for anxiety. More recently, a 2017 review that examined 18 different studies supported this, showing that magnesium indeed helped reduce anxiety levels, particularly in cases of mild anxiety, anxiety during premenstrual syndrome, postpartum anxiety, and generalized anxiety.

According to Red Right Daily, magnesium’s effectiveness may stem from its ability to improve brain function.

However, the challenge lies in the fact that many people are severely deficient in magnesium, even those who take the “recommended daily dose.” The problem is twofold:

First, higher stress levels, which are common in today’s fast-paced world, require much higher than the RDA doses of magnesium.

Second, many magnesium supplements available on the market are either synthetic or not full-spectrum, meaning they do not contain the various forms of magnesium needed to target different organs in the body and address all sources of stress.

Red Right Daily explains that most people only get 1-2 forms of synthetic magnesium from their supplements, which is why they often feel little to no benefit.

However, when the body receives all the forms of magnesium it needs at the optimal dosage, a significant improvement in stress management and overall performance can occur.

The article emphasizes that if you’re only taking one form of magnesium, you are still likely deficient, and a full-spectrum supplement is essential to truly experience the benefits .
